‘A Man without a Shadow’ to go to Malaysia Int’l Film Festival

The Malaysia Int’l Film Festival is to screen Iran’s ‘A Man without a Shadow’.

The 2020 edition of the annual Malaysia International Film Festival (MIFFest) has listed Iranian feature ‘A Man without a Shadow’ in its official selection.

Alireza Raeesian’s melodrama will present Iran at the 4th edition of the MIFFest, slated for December 5-10, 2020 in Kuala Lumpur.

‘A Man without Shadow’, which has been shot in Iran and Spain, had its first festival screening at the 37th Fajr Film Festival in Iran.

The film depicts some emotional and matrimonial challenges of the modern Iranian society.

‘A Man without Shadow’ follows the story of a documentarian, Mahan, who makes a film about a husband who is suspicious of his wife.

After the film is out, he gets sued and consequently loses his job. Sayeh, his wife, must find a job to make their ends meet.

Now that her job as an interpreter entails business trips to Spain, Mahan finds himself in the shoes of a suspicious spouse.

Leila Hatami and Ali Mosaffa have played the two starring roles of the flick.

Besides the duo, Farhad Aslani, Amir AqaeeGohar Kheirandish, Nader Fallah, and Nasim Adabi are among the cast members of the movie.

The film has already participated in a number of international filmfests, including the 10th London Iranian Film Festival in the UK and the 18th Dhaka International Film Festival in Bangladesh.

The MIFFest is aimed at promoting the spirit of togetherness and unity. This year, the festival will screen some 20 national and international films in three categories: World Cinema Masterpieces, Highlights of Asian Cinema, and Spotlight on Malaysian Filmmakers.
